A new application (app) has been launched for use in the quarrying industry.  The app features an on-the-ground vibration and air-blast predictive calculator. The vibration and acoustic calculator (VibrAc) app can be used to estimate the ground vibration and airblast from a blasting event at a determined distance and a mass per delay.

AEL Intelligent Blasting developed the app in collaboration with TLC Engineering Solutions over an 18-month period and it was trialed in-house by AEL.

The VibrAc app is available for free download on Google Play and the Apple App store.

The app aims to address some of the challenges in the quarrying industry by assisting users to reduce blast risk and improve overall safety performance.
