PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Lithium developer Anson Resources has confirmed the location of its proposed processing plant at the recently acquired Green River lithium project, in Utah.

The company said on Friday that the confirmation of the processing plant site represents a key milestone in Anson’s development plans for the Green River project.

It comes after the company completed a detailed geotechnical engineering study over the project area, which delivered highly positive outcomes and helped reaffirm the project’s development potential.

Anson in July this year entered into an agreement to acquire the Green River project, which had the potential to increase the Joint Ore Reserve Committee-compliant resource of the company’s existing Paradox project, without the need for further drilling. The Green River project area at the time of purchase contained 18 historical oil and gas wells of which 3 hosted recorded lithium values.

A definitive feasibility study into the Paradox lithium project estimated that Phase 1 of the project could produce some 13 074 t/y of high-purity lithium carbonate, delivering revenues of $5.05-billion over its 23 years of operation.

The study found that the project would require a capital investment of $495-million.

Anson said on Friday that the results from an engineering study at Green River confirmed that the proposed site was suitable for the construction of the proposed processing plant’s foundations. The engineering study consisted of nine boreholes and five trenches, as well as geophysical surveys.
