JSE-listed Quantum Foods has advised that Country Bird Holdings (CBH), which holds an 18% stake in the company, has demanded that a shareholder meeting be convened to discuss the proposed removal of chairperson Wouter Hanekom.

CBH is also calling for the removal of lead independent director Geoffrey Fortuin.

Quantum says it will publish an announcement on the possible meeting in due course.

Another shareholder of Quantum, Braemar Trading, in March also demanded a shareholder meeting to remove Hanekom from his position.

At the time, Quantum’s legal counsel advised that the demand was not legally compliant and the board did not convene a shareholder meeting.
