Exxaro Resources and the Tata Power Company, through Cennergi. The Cookhouse and Bedford Community Trusts jointly own 5% of the equity of the project.

Project Description
The 134 MW wind farm will be located near the town of Bedford, in the Eastern Cape.

The project will comprise 56 Nordex turbines each with an estimated 80-m-hub height and a capacity of 2.4 MW.

Additional infrastructure includes underground power cables linking the turbines, access roads on the farms and a substation.

South African State-owned power utility Eskom will construct a 19 km 132 kV transmission line from the project’s substation to its substation, which is located adjacent to the project facility.

Value
The project is estimated at $352-million.

Duration
Construction of the project is expected to take 24 months.

Latest Developments
Cennergi has reached financial close on the Amakhala Emoyeni wind farm project.

Power purchase and implementation agreements were signed with Eskom and the Department of Energy on May 9, 2013.
Significant work on the site will formally begin in 2014.
