Johannesburg-based Alusani Skills & Training Network, which has been in operation since 2006, offers over 175 courses in 19 topic areas.

The company’s construction management portfolio consists of two- and three-day courses that provide course participants with a fundamental understanding of standard-form construction contracts, including the full suite of New Engineering Contract and Fidic contracts, as well as the sixth edition of the Joint Building Contracts Committee (JBCC) suite and General Conditions of Contract 2010.

Other courses under this portfolio focus on construction claims, estimating, construction contract management and administration, professional service contracts, engineering, procurement and construction management, project management, health and safety, and risk management.

The construction management courses are all accredited with continued professional development points. This is also true of the company’s maintenance and engineering courses, which are presented by Allan Tarita, who has had more than 30 years’ experience, both locally and internationally. The topics covered include maintenance planning and scheduling for improved uptime, preventive maintenance, root-cause failure analysis and maintenance audit and strategy development.

The training options available are public training and on-site training, which can be customised to meet the unique needs of clients. Alusani Skills & Training Network has full accredi- tation with the Services Sector Education and Training Authority and has a Level 2 broad-based black economic empowerment rating.
