Airbus

Airbus is a European multinational aerospace corporation that designs, manufactures and sells civil and military aeronautical products worldwide. The company is headquartered in Toulouse, France, and operates major production facilities across Europe, including in Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom. Airbus is one of the world's two leading aircraft manufacturers, competing directly with Boeing in the commercial aviation market. The company produces a comprehensive range of passenger airliners, from the single-aisle A220 and A320 family to the wide-body A330, A350 and the double-deck A380, the world's largest passenger airliner. Airbus also manufactures military transport aircraft, helicopters through its Airbus Helicopters division, and defence and space systems through Airbus Defence and Space. The company employs more than 130 000 people globally and generates annual revenue exceeding €50-billion. Airbus was formed in 1970 as a consortium of European aviation firms to compete with American manufacturers, and was fully integrated as a single company in 2001. It is listed on the stock exchanges of Paris, Frankfurt and Madrid, and is a component of the CAC 40 and Euro Stoxx 50 indices.
