Savant, a leader in hardware engineering commercialisation, has proudly launched the Savant Build 2024 programme, supported by USAID Mobilizing Investment. Targeted for post-revenue science and engineering-based businesses in SADC Africa, this initiative addresses the critical investment gap in hardware engineering within the green economy.

Key Highlights:

  • Funding for Hardware Engineering: Savant’s Build Programme will invest up to R200 000 in capital and R350 000 worth of value adding services into participating companies over the course of the six-month investor readiness initiative. This initial funding round is intended to serve as a validation launchpad, preparing founders to test their innovations and markets before securing their subsequent funding round. Additionally, founders will continue to receive Savant’s support beyond in-cohort activities. The fund will generously support its Build programme founders post-programme, helping the cohort secure funding required for scaling; facilitating direct-investor-connections within Savant’s ecosystem partners, actively allocating growth capital.
  • Savant's 2024 Build Programme directly tackles the investment challenges faced by engineers and scientists building deep-tech enabled hardware companies; offering a strategic lifeline for sustainable growth through advisory, investment opportunities with Savant and lowering the barrier to growth, facilitating curated outcomes-driven masterclasses.
  • Exclusive Advisory Network: Selected startups gain access to an exclusive advisory network of mentors, investment professionals, and successful founders, providing unparalleled guidance and strategic connections.
  • Application Details: Hardware entrepreneurs driving green innovation are encouraged to explore more about the programme and apply here.

Savant Managing Partner Nick Allen comments, "With our proven track record and extensive network, Savant is uniquely positioned to guide startups through market complexities. Join us in shaping a future of innovation and sustainability in South Africa's Green economy."

Application Deadline: 16 February 2024
