Built on over two decades of civil engineering research and development, Pretoria-based company LiBER GRIDS offers a patented grid-and-frame system designed to deliver structural strength and hydraulic efficiency in demanding environments.

The company affirms that its stormwater management technology is reshaping how municipalities, developers and property owners address drainage challenges.

Its key offering is the LiBER GRIDS stormwater inlet grid, engineered to manage high rainfall volumes while supporting heavy traffic loads. The heavy-duty HD‑S1F unit is designed for durability, handling point loads of up to 900 kN across a 750 mm grid width. This capacity makes the systems suitable for applications in transport infrastructure, commercial developments and high-traffic public spaces.

The product features a particular grid sizing to facilitate a balance between drainage and debris control and ensure efficient water flow while preventing clogging from leaves and debris. This aims to help reduce the risk of flooding, enhance hydraulic performance and protect surrounding infrastructure from erosion or water damage.

Manufactured from corrosion-resistant materials, the grids are built to withstand weathering, theft and long-term wear, supported by a 25-year guarantee backed by ISO 9001-certified processes. The products can be integrated into green-building initiatives, with gravity-driven drainage systems that minimise pooling and support stormwater harvesting applications.

LiBER GRIDS also offers a range of services to support the implementation of its products, including CAD drawings, specification packs, compliance documentation, installation guidelines, and planning and design support. The company offers standard units and customised solutions to meet specific project requirements

The modular grid-and-frame system allows for easy installation and the lock-down functionality helps prevent theft and vandalism while ensuring stable, quiet vehicle movement over the grids.

Applications span residential driveways, commercial developments and large-scale municipal infrastructure.

LiBER GRIDS asserts that its products offer a solution to both existing and future drainage challenges – combining strength, efficiency and adaptability.

The company invites all delegates to view its smart stormwater solutions at the Electra Mining Africa expo, to be held on September, 7 to 11 at the Johannesburg Expo Centre, Nasrec.
