Smartgrowth Investments has acquired Scuderia South Africa (SA), the official Ferrari distributor in Southern Africa.

This follows the conclusion of negotiations that started in November last year for the purchase of shares from the company’s previous shareholders, whom Scuderia SA declines to identify.

Smartgrowth Investments CEO André Rossouw has served in several senior management positions in the luxury sports car business over the last 15 years.

“These certainly are exciting times for Ferrari in South Africa and we look forward to supporting this amazing brand under the new ownership structure," says Rossouw as the new CEO of Scuderia SA.

Celebrating its fiftieth anniversary as the official local Ferrari dealer, Scuderia SA says it has exciting plans for the remainder of 2023.

Two new models, the Ferrari Purosangue and the Ferrari Roma Spider are set to debut in South Africa in the fourth quarter.

"Our world-class showrooms will continue to provide a unique glimpse into the world of Ferrari,” says Rossouw.

“It remains a hub where customers and enthusiasts can appreciate the vehicles and learn more about the proud heritage of the brand.”

Scuderia SA sold 31 Ferraris in the first seven months of the year, according to data released by Naamsa | The Automotive Business Council.
