SGS Matrolab’s Performance Based Asphalt (PBA) Laboratory supports the development and verification of high‑performance asphalt materials for modern road infrastructure. The laboratory provides advanced rheological and performance testing to assess durability, rutting resistance, fatigue, and climate‑specific behaviour of binders and mixes. By applying internationally recognised methods, SGS Matrolab helps clients optimise asphalt designs, manage risk, and extend pavement life, supporting safer, more sustainable, and cost‑effective road networks.

Advanced Geotechnical Testing for Reliable Infrastructure Development

The Geotechnical Testing Laboratory within SGS Matrolab delivers specialised soil mechanics testing in support of infrastructure development, operating in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025.

The laboratory’s core capabilities include consolidation and oedometer testing to assess settlement behaviour, as well as swell testing to evaluate expansive soil risks. Advanced shear strength analysis, including triaxial testing, provides critical parameters for foundation design, slope stability, and earthworks. In addition, permeability testing supports the assessment of seepage and drainage characteristics in soils.

All testing is conducted by competent personnel using calibrated equipment and validated methods, ensuring accurate, traceable, and defensible results. Through its focus on quality and technical expertise, SGS Matrolab supports engineers and developers with reliable data for safe and sustainable infrastructure.
