Project Description
Pallas will be an advanced nuclear reactor, dedicated to the production of medical isotopes and (medical) nuclear technological research.

The reactor will replace the outdated high-flux reactor in Petten. The facility will be of the "tank-in-pool" type, with thermal power of about 55 MW, and be able to deploy its neutron flux more efficiently and effectively than the high-flux reactor.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs & Climate and Province of North Holland has indicated that funds have been set aside for the construction of the Pallas reactor – €22-million in 2022 and €122-million a year from 2023.
