In the engineering world, precision is paramount. As South Africa undertakes some of its most ambitious infrastructure projects—whether moving large turbines, long span steel structures, or oversized processing equipment—the industry relies on careful planning, specialised expertise, and dependable transport solutions to help make these complex undertakings possible.

Mercedes‑Benz Trucks plays an important role in supporting many of South Africa’s engineering and infrastructure projects, helping transport the equipment and materials that keep the country moving forward.

Meet the Mercedes-Benz Actros and Arocs abnormal range.

Designed with the needs of South Africa’s heavy duty transport and engineering sectors in mind, these vehicles offer purpose built solutions for some of the country’s most demanding haulage requirements. The Actros 4058S/39 6x4 is engineered for abnormal-load operations, providing the massive pulling power needed to move heavy cargo with safety and precision. Its dependable performance helps ensure that specialised loads reach their destinations timeously, allowing project teams to focus on progressing their work with confidence. For projects that require even greater capability, the Arocs 4863AS/48 8x8 SLT offers an exceptionally capable proven heavy haul solution designed to cope with the largest terrestrial loads on South African roads.  With its all wheel drive 8x8 configuration, it provides the traction to keep abnormal loads moving over South Africa’s challenging topography, where conventional trucking solutions will not suffice. For more than a century, Mercedes-Benz has supported South Africa’s transport and logistics landscape. Today, the Actros and Arocs SLT ranges continue to contribute to this legacy by playing a role in the movement of equipment and materials that help enable infrastructure and development across the country.
