Southern African solar solutions provider SolarSaver, solar technology manufacturer Sigenergy and distributor SIAAC have partnered to simplify the shift to renewable energy for businesses across Africa, cemented by a 100 MWh corporate agreement. This strategic alliance leverages SolarSaver's capex-free solar solutions, SIAAC's robust distribution network, and Sigenergy's advanced energy storage technology to offer businesses a seamless, managed solution and addresses the urgent need for stable, sustainable commercial power.

For many businesses, the initial capital outlay for solar infrastructure is a significant barrier. SolarSaver removes this obstacle with a "rent the sun" model, offering fully installed, managed and maintained solar photovoltaic (PV) solutions without any upfront investment. This approach allows companies to immediately reduce their electricity costs and carbon footprint, paying only for the cheaper, greener power the system produces. Where hybrid systems including batteries are required, businesses pay a monthly fee.

"Our mission is to make solar energy accessible and affordable for every business," says Lance Green, Sales Director at SolarSaver. "We handle the entire process—from design and installation to ongoing maintenance and insurance—so our clients can focus on their core operations while enjoying the benefits of clean energy. It's a completely hassle-free solution that treats solar energy as a utility."

This powerful value proposition has fuelled SolarSaver's rapid expansion to having over 140MW under management. The company's success recently attracted a substantial $60 million international investment, which will accelerate its mission to bring sustainable energy to more businesses throughout the continent.

For SolarSaver, providing reliable and high-performance inverters and battery systems is critical to delivering on their promise to clients. The partnership with Sigenergy provides access to exactly that. Sigenergy systems already feature in over 100 of the 800 major systems SolarSaver has installed across Southern Africa.

"This partnership is a significant step in strengthening Sigenergy's footprint in the market and accelerating the adoption of advanced energy solutions for businesses across the region,” says Sébastien Feit, Chief Executive Officer at SIAAC Group.  "Together, we are driving high-performance solutions that strengthen the C&I market."

Game-changing technology built for Africa

With a focus on innovation and sustainability, Sigenergy produces a wide range of high-performance inverters, battery systems, and smart energy solutions tailored to meet diverse market needs. Sigenergy's state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities are strategically located, allowing for efficient production and distribution to key regions around the world, enabling seamless delivery of energy solutions to businesses and consumers across multiple continents.

Sigenergy offers technology designed specifically to meet the continent's unique energy challenges. Their systems deliver high performance and reliability, providing uninterrupted power to critical loads even during grid outages, thanks to 0ms load-side disruption.

The Sigenergy SigenStor is an advanced energy storage system designed to optimise energy utilisation and ensure maximum efficiency. Its intelligent energy management capabilities allow for real-time monitoring and control, providing users with detailed insights into their energy consumption.

Sigenergy also recently launched the HYB SigenStack Solution. It’s an all-in-one system that integrates the inverter, battery, and energy management into a single unit, making installation exceptionally fast, especially for megawatt-scale projects.

Eon Geldenhuys, Solutions & Service Manager for South Africa at Sigenergy, explains the innovation. "Engineered for tomorrow, the SigenStack solution is built to withstand Africa’s harshest conditions with an IP66 rating and advanced thermal technology. Its modular and scalable design allows businesses to expand their energy capacity without reworking existing infrastructure. AI-powered smart management optimises solar usage and minimises reliance on diesel generators or the grid, ensuring true energy independence and a future-proof investment."

Landmark projects showcase success

The power of this collaboration is already evident in several high-impact projects across the continent, delivering sustainable energy solutions to diverse industries.

Ngala Safari Lodge, South Africa

SolarSaver implemented a grid-tied solar solution at the Ngala Safari Lodge, part of the &BEYOND Group. This installation powers a world-class luxury safari experience with sustainable energy, aligning the lodge's operations with its commitment to conservation in its private wilderness concession.

Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch, Namibia

In the remote dunes of Namibia's Kalahari Desert, SolarSaver delivered a sophisticated off-grid solar PV installation for the Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch. Using advanced Sigenergy equipment, the project ensures the luxury lodge operates on reliable, clean energy, providing a greener and more sustainable experience for guests while preserving the pristine natural environment.

Margro Farms, Zambia

A large potato farm in Zambia is now fully self-sufficient, running on clean solar power. The project, a collaboration between SolarSaver, Elite Technologies Ltd, and Sigenergy, features a massive installation of 38 SigenStor units and over 1,800 solar panels. The entire system, including full MV reticulation, was completed in under two months.

Xungana Island Lodge, Botswana

This landmark off-grid solar installation at Xugana Island Lodge for Desert & Delta Safaris, brings clean, reliable energy to one of Botswana's first-ever Okavango delta lodges, replacing its previous reliance on generators.

Situated over 100km from the nearest town in permanent water flows, the lodge is now fully powered by a bespoke solar solution featuring 136.08kWp from 324 Trina Solar panels and 352kWh of battery capacity using 44 Sigenergy 8.0kWh lithium batteries, managed by 8 Sigenergy 15kW inverters. A 130kVA generator ensures uninterrupted power.

Together, SolarSaver, SIAAC, and Sigenergy are building a framework for resilient and sustainable economic growth. “By removing financial barriers and delivering advanced, reliable renewable energy solutions, we’re empowering African businesses to thrive,” says Green.
