Coatings For Africa 2026, a networking event for Southern Africa’s coating industry, will be held at the Sandton Convention Centre, in Johannesburg, from June 24 to 26.

The event, which is hosted by events company dmg Events, in association with paint industry organisation the South African Paint Manufacturing Association, will showcase latest coatings products and solutions from countries including South Africa, China and India, as well as the United Arab Emirates and parts of Europe, says dmg Events’ Coatings Group associate VP Paddy O’Neill.

Coatings For Africa serves as a key platform for networking and business development in the wider coatings industry, and connects suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and technical specialists, including chemists, formulators, and research and development professionals.

Consequently, attendees can engage with new solutions and emerging products while forming valuable business partnerships.

The event’s significance is rooted in its usefulness as a platform for newcomers and experienced professionals hoping to capitalise on South Africa’s paints and coatings market, which continues to “experience steady growth”, owing to demand from industries such as automotive manufacturing and construction.

“The South African Automotive Masterplan 2035 – which targets yearly vehicle production of 1.4-million units by 2035 – is expected to accelerate demand for advanced, high-performance coatings technologies and sustainable manufacturing solutions,” he notes.

Further, Coatings For Africa 2026 will serve as an important meeting point for the industry to “exchange knowledge, strengthen regional partnerships and support the long-term development of the coatings market across Southern Africa”.

ChemTalks and Exhibitors

The event will host ChemTalks sessions during the first two days. ChemTalks has a dedicated content programme that enables experts and leading brands to share insights into market trends, technical innovations and sustainability developments, as well as explore the evolving landscape of the coatings industry worldwide.

Thought leaders scheduled to speak at the ChemTalks sessions include Orr & Boss Consulting senior consultant Trevor Matayi and Business Unity South Africa CEO Khulekani Mathe.

Exhibiting companies include synthetic resin and polymer manufacturer Synthetic Polymers, chemical solutions company Synthomer, specialty chemicals supplier IMCD, chemical industry organisation Bodo Möller Chemie SA and industrial chemicals wholesaler Orchem.

“Coatings For Africa has established itself as the leading platform for the paints and coatings industry in Southern Africa. Building on the success of the 2024 edition, the 2026 event will further strengthen collaboration, support business growth and drive inno- vation across the regional market. We extend our gratitude to our sponsors, platinum sponsor Synthetic Polymers, sustainability partner lead Exposure Elimination Project, badge sponsor Rolfes Chemicals and bag sponsor Gapuma. Their support is invaluable as we continue to strengthen Coatings For Africa’s position within the industry,” O’Neill concludes.
