Industrial supplier and distributor BMG’s filtration product specialist Hanli Schutte notes that BMG supplies and supports a comprehensive range of Fleetguard filters – manufactured by Cummins Filtration – that are especially designed for the transport sector, for both on- and off road applications.

“As with any mechanical system, wear and tear is a certainty in hydraulic systems. Components that rely on specified tolerances can lose efficiency or sustain damage through poor filtration and leakage. In fact, particulate and water contamination is responsible for between 80% and 90% of all hydraulic system failures,” Schutte explains, adding that effective filtration is crucial in an environment that demands greater efficiency from equipment.

She stresses that, because filtration is a defence against engine wear and tear, it is critical that effective filters are used to ensure optimum engine performance, reduced environmental impact, high efficiency and the extended service life of mobile equipment, thereby protecting the owner’s investment.

“Without effective filtration, premature equipment failure is likely to occur, resulting in unnecessary downtime of equipment and costly replacement of parts.”

She comments that Cummins Filtration is known as a leader in the design and manufacture of diesel engines, filters, coolants and fuel additives for heavy-duty diesel engines, and adds “muscle” to the Fleetguard brand.

Moreover, Schutte states that, by implementing Fleetguard solutions, original-equipment manufacturers (OEMs), distributors and end-users have the assurance of dependability in filtration products that meet high emission standards and are protected by warranty from the point of purchase through the recommended life of the product.

BMG’s Fleetguard range includes over 8 300 products, including air, lube, fuel and hydraulic filters, that are engineered to meet or exceed OEM specifications, ensuring the maximum life of every engine or system.

Included in the Fleetguard range of filters are 4WD filter kits that contain air, oil and lube filters for a quick and easy servicing for ‘bakkies’. Cabin and pollen filters are available as well.

BMG’s fluid technology services also include solutions for fuel and industrial filtration systems, hydraulics and pneumatics, lubrication, hydraulic hose and fittings, and instrumentation, pumps and industrial valves.

Through the company’s specialist skills – and a dependable stockholding of components –BMG can meet demand from customers for dependable services, throughout the African continent.
