The Automotive Industry Development Centre Eastern Cape (AIDC-EC) has announced the precautionary suspension of CEO Thabo Shenxane, with effect from June 25, following allegations of transgressions concerning the internal workplace culture that began to negatively impact on business operations.

Questions of a serious nature arose earlier this year over governance, workplace culture and internal controls within this organisation and the internal turmoil has sparked concerns about the agency’s ability to support the regional automotive industry, the organisation points out.

The AIDC-EC board has resolved to appoint an acting CEO as a way of ensuring stability and business continuity, adding that it continues to treat all allegations and ongoing internal investigations with fairness and respect.
