Africa Mining Projects in Progress 2025

Mining underpins the global energy transition, with electrification driving rapid growth in demand for battery and critical minerals. Africa, which holds a significant share of the world’s cobalt, manganese, copper and bauxite, is becoming increasingly central to global supply chains.

Yet most minerals are still exported in raw form, limiting value capture.

Creamer Media’s 'Africa Mining Projects in Progress 2025' report reflects this challenge through a selection of projects at the preliminary economic assessment, scoping, prefeasibility and feasibility stages, highlighting  the scale of opportunity and the structural, financing and policy hurdles that will shape whether Africa’s mineral endowment translates into sustained industrial development.

This report is a summary of information published in Engineering News and Mining Weekly, as well as of information available in the public domain over the past 12 months. The report does not purport to provide analysis of market trends.

The information in this report is correct as of October 31, 2025.
