SAWEA

SAWEA (South African Wind Energy Association) is the industry body representing wind energy stakeholders in South Africa. The association serves as the collective voice for wind power developers, manufacturers, service providers and other participants in the wind energy value chain. SAWEA advocates for policies and regulatory frameworks that support the growth and sustainability of wind energy in South Africa's electricity sector. The organisation engages with government, regulators and other stakeholders to promote the integration of wind power into the national energy mix. SAWEA provides a platform for knowledge sharing, industry collaboration and the dissemination of best practices across the wind energy sector. The association works to address technical, commercial and regulatory challenges facing wind energy development in South Africa. It also plays a role in promoting skills development and local content participation in wind energy projects. SAWEA represents its members' interests in discussions around grid access, procurement programmes and energy policy formulation. The organisation contributes to public awareness and understanding of wind energy's role in addressing South Africa's electricity supply challenges and climate commitments. Through its activities, SAWEA supports the expansion of wind power capacity and the development of a competitive and sustainable wind energy industry in South Africa.
