Prairie Lithium

Prairie Lithium is a Canadian lithium development company focused on extracting lithium from subsurface brines in Saskatchewan. The company is advancing the Prairie Lithium Project, which aims to produce battery-grade lithium products for the electric vehicle and energy storage markets. Prairie Lithium employs direct lithium extraction (DLE) technology to recover lithium from deep brine reservoirs, a method that offers potential advantages over conventional hard-rock mining and evaporation pond techniques. The company's operations are centred in Saskatchewan, a province with significant lithium-bearing brine resources. Prairie Lithium is working to establish a domestic supply chain for lithium in Canada, positioning itself within the country's critical minerals strategy. The company has attracted international interest, including partnerships and investment from South Korea, reflecting global demand for secure lithium supply. Prairie Lithium's development activities include resource delineation, pilot testing of extraction technology and advancing regulatory approvals. The company is led by executives with experience in resource development and clean technology. Prairie Lithium represents part of the emerging North American lithium sector, which seeks to reduce reliance on imports and support the transition to electric mobility.
