Ivanplats

Ivanplats is a South African mining company focused on the development of platinum-group metals projects in the Bushveld Igneous Complex. The company is headquartered in Johannesburg and operates as a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, a Canadian mining group. Ivanplats holds the Platreef project near Mokopane in Limpopo province, one of the largest undeveloped platinum-group metals deposits in the world. The project targets platinum, palladium, rhodium, nickel, copper and gold mineralisation within a single orebody. Ivanplats has attracted significant international investment, including partnerships with Japanese entities such as Itochu, Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation and Japan Gas Corporation through the ITC Platinum Development joint venture. The company is advancing Platreef through feasibility studies and engineering work in collaboration with firms including DRA Global, SRK Consulting and WSP. Ivanplats is structured to comply with South African broad-based black economic empowerment requirements. The company's development timeline and capital requirements position it as a major future supplier of platinum-group metals, particularly as global demand for palladium and rhodium in automotive catalysts and other industrial applications continues. Ivanplats represents a key component of Ivanhoe Mines' portfolio of large-scale African mining projects.
