Partnership between S African and UK conveyor companies gains traction
South Africa-based supplier of conveyor belt systems Tru-Trac asserts that its strengthening partnership with UK conveyor belt and vulcanising specialist BREC is a result of an increased focus on conveyor uptime, preventative maintenance, and long-term operational efficiency.
The two companies will be jointly exhibiting at the Hillhead quarrying, construction and recycling equipment show to be held in the UK in June 2026.
“The opportunities for our belt tracking and related solutions in the UK are growing steadily,” says Tru-Trac national sales manager Guy Fitt, adding that the exhibition represents a strategic opportunity to present the companies’ technologies to a targeted audience within the quarrying and bulk materials handling sectors.
BREC MD Steve Perruzza says Tru-Trac’s range of conveyor belt trackers are engineered to maintain precise belt alignment and extend belt life, and align with BREC’s focus on preventative maintenance and long-term value creation.
“The Tru-Trac trackers are exactly what we need within our service offering to customers across the UK and Ireland,” he says. “It is a value-added solution that helps customers achieve longer belt life which is critical in reducing total cost of ownership by extending replacement intervals.”
Fitt emphasises that Tru-Trac aims to achieve higher conveyor uptime with a tracker design that rapidly corrects misalignment without damaging the belt.
“Conveyor uptime remains a critical performance metric across a wide range of bulk materials handling operations,” he says. “Belt misalignment continues to be one of the most common and costly issues affecting conveyor systems, often resulting in premature belt wear, material spillage and unplanned downtime.”
Perruzza explains that BREC’s existing portfolio of conveyor components and services provides a platform for integrating Tru-Trac’s tracking technology. From initial consultation and product selection to installation support and after-sales service, the company aims to offer a comprehensive lifecycle-focused solution.
