Name of the Project
Dvalin subsea field development project.

Location
The field is located in PL435, blocks 6507/7/9 and 6507/8, in the Norwegian Sea, about 15 km north-west of Heidrun and 290 km from Nyhamna, in mid-Norway.

Client
DEA Norge is the operator of licence PL435 and has a 40% share.

The partners are Edison (20%), Maersk (20%) and OMV Norge (20%).

Project Description
Recoverable reserves of the Dvalin field are estimated at 18.2-billion cubic metres of gas and 400 000 m3 of condensate.

Dvalin will be developed with a four-well subsea template, connected to the Heidrun platform.

At Heidrun, the gas will be partly processed in a new module, before the gas is transported in a new export pipeline to Polarled and then to the Nyhamna onshore gas terminal.

At Nyhamna, the processing of the gas will be finalised and the gas transported to the European market.

Jobs to be Created
In total, 68% of the value creation at Dvalin will come from Norwegian suppliers, and it is estimated that the work will create more than 6 000 work years for the supplier industry.

Value
The project is valued at €1.1-billion.

Duration
Production is planned to start in 2020.

Latest Developments
DEA has awarded the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract for the smaller structures and pipelines, as well as the subsea installation work of the Dvalin development, to Technip Norge.

The contract includes the fabrication of smaller structures, the 12 inch/16 inch pipe-in-pipe production flowline, the 12 inch gas export pipeline and the installation of pipelines, as well as all subsea structures and the umbilical for the Dvalin field.

Meanwhile, Aker Solutions has been awarded the contract for the subsea production system for Dvalin, which comprises the 300 t subsea template and the umbilical connected to Heidrun.

Aibel has been awarded the contract for modules and offshore integration at the Heidrun platform, which includes the two new modules at the Heidrun platform, one 4 000 t module for gas treatment and one 400 t injection system.

These topside modifications for tie-in of Dvalin to Heidrun will be planned, executed and operated by Statoil.

Key Contracts and Suppliers
Technip Norge (EPCI), Aker Solutions (subsea production system), Aibel (modules and offshore integration) and Statoil (topside modifications).
