Ceramic abrasives offer maximum stock removal for optimal productivity
SPONSORED POST (Virtual Showroom): Ceramic abrasive grains have been used in the manufacturing of coated and bonded abrasives for many years and VSM Abrasives is widely recognised for its premium range of ceramic grain coated abrasives, designed to combine optimum performance with an extended product service life and the best possible performance-to-price ratio.
With over 150 years’ experience, German abrasives manufacturer VSM AG asserts that it has further developed and enhanced the performance of its ceramic grains and associated products. VSM ACTIROX is seen as the next generation of ceramic abrasive grains, aimed at providing users with maximum stock removal in the shortest possible time, while maintaining an extended service life. The precision triangular shaped ceramic grains are designed and manufactured in-house and are highlighted as one of the main reasons for the product’s superior performance during grinding operations.
The VSM ACTIROX precision shaped ceramic grains are identical in shape and size, ensuring that the cutting edges are consistently applied to the workpiece at an optimum angle, throughout the product’s service life. The company explains that this allows the grain to penetrate the workpiece effortlessly and achieve the maximum possible stock removal, while reducing heat build-up within the grinding zone. Combined with the self-sharpening characteristics of VSM ceramic grains, the user is able to achieve the most efficient and economical machining process.
VSM ACTIROX is available in two variations, namely:
- The ACTIROX AF890 for stainless steel and superalloys
- The ACTIROX AF799 for unalloyed steels
The product is also suitable for non-ferrous metals and was awarded the German Innovation award by the German Design Council in 2019, recognised for its user-friendly benefits, effectiveness and economic efficiency.
PFERD South Africa is the proud converter and distribution partner of VSM Abrasives in South Africa.
