The University of Pretoria (UP) has appointed Professor Nicola Kleyn as successor to Professor Nick Binedell as dean of the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) following a local and international recruitment drive.

Kleyn, the current GIBS deputy dean and executive director for academic programmes, would work alongside Binedell as dean elect until she takes the reins on April 1.

“I am delighted with Nicola’s appointment. She has substantial business school experience and I am confident she will make a significant contribution to business education in South Africa,” said Binedell.

Kleyn, who joined GIBS in 2000, holds a BCom, a BCom (Hons) and an MBA (Wits) and competed her doctorate at the UP.
