Business Connexion (BCX) head of sales and marketing and executive of the Canoa division, Isaac Mophatlane, has been appointed as CEO, effective August 1.

Mophatlane would take over from deputy CEO Vanessa Olver, who stepped in as acting CEO following the death of the information and communications technology (ICT) service provider’s former CEO, Benjamin Mophatlane, a month ago.

“Isaac was the natural choice of successor to Benjamin given his background as co-founder of BCX and his intimate understanding of the operations and culture of the company,” chairperson Tony Ruiters commented.

BCX was currently the takeover target of Telkom, which has made a R2.67-billion bid for the ICT company.

A general shareholder meeting would be held at BCX’s offices in Midrand on August 11 to allow shareholders to vote on the deal.
