Mbuyiseli Madlanga is a justice of the Constitutional Court of South Africa, the country's apex court. He was appointed to the Constitutional Court in 2013, becoming one of the youngest justices to serve on the bench at the time. Madlanga holds law degrees from the University of Transkei and obtained his LLM from the University of Notre Dame in the United States. Before his elevation to the Constitutional Court, he served as a judge of the High Court and later the Supreme Court of Appeal. His legal scholarship and judicial reasoning have contributed to the development of constitutional jurisprudence in the post-apartheid era. Madlanga's tenure on the Constitutional Court has coincided with pivotal cases shaping the country's democratic institutions and the protection of fundamental rights.
