The project is a joint venture between Ningbo Zhoushan Port Company Limited (50%), a sub­sidi­ary of Zhejiang Provincial Seaport Investment & Operation Group Co, and Vale (50%).

Project Description
The project involves the expansion of the Shulanghu port facilities, the construction of a stockyard and two loading berths with a combined capacity of 20-million tonnes a year, subject to regulatory approvals. The project includes the acquisition of land rights.

By participating in the project, Vale will secure a total port capacity of 40-million tonnes a year in Shulanghu, which will help Vale to optimise its overall supply chain costs.
