Victor Industrial Equipment

Being a manufacturer of explosion-protected electrical connectors that cover voltages up to 12 000 V and current up to 750 A, the Victor group of companies – of which Victor Industrial Equipment forms a part – offers a cable repair facility built around the mining industry’s specific needs.

The repair team normally consists of one senior, skilled foreman and two to five skilled jointers. The facility’s manager has over 12 years’ experience in managing cable shops of all types of mines – both opencast and underground mines – and oversees the complete cable shop, in conjunction with a nominated person from the mine (if required by the mine).

The company’s team makes use of only high-quality products, one of which is its cable sheath repair and jointing kit comprising high-quality products.

As soon as a repair is done on a damaged cable, a test report follows. The reading will then be documented in a test book. A copy of the test report will be made available to the foreman. Cable logbooks are updated on a daily basis. Cable numbers, the types of repairs and the number of joints are recorded.

The team follows very strict safety protocols and PTO, RCT, VVL, safety meetings, MSDS sheets and PPE check sheets, together with contractor’s packs, are updated weekly.

All Victor Industrial Equipment staff adhere to legal and lawful mine specifications and standards made available to them. All staff are trained by the chief electrical foreman and the technical manager. Medicals are done prior to commencement of work on every mine and are kept up to date.

Technical support, international certification, approval and quality of the complete product range, together with the experienced and dedicated team, are the foundations of Victor Industrial Equipment’s trusted reputation.
