Brazil-based major global aerospace group Embraer announced on Monday that it had received a further order from US-based executive aircraft and services company NetJets for up to 100 more Phenom light business jets. The deal is worth $1.2-billion and NetJets will begin to receive the new aircraft (which will be Phenom 300E models) during the second quarter of 2023, for both its US and European operations.

“We are pleased to have signed this significant deal with NetJets, as our strategic partnership has been an integral part of Embraer’s success for over a decade,” highlighted Embraer Executive Jets president and CEO Michael Amalfitano. “NetJets is recognised worldwide for the excellence of its operations and for providing an outstanding customer experience, so this continuing deal is an endorsement to the quality of our product and standards in performance, technology, comfort, and support. Embraer and NetJets share the same vision for business aviation, making the Phenom 300 series – the best-selling light jet for nine years in a row – an excellent choice.”

NetJets first ordered executive aircraft off Embraer in 2010. That deal was for 50 Phenom 300s plus up to 75 options. Since then, the US company has taken delivery of more than 100 Phenom 300s. The latest deal includes a comprehensive services agreement.

“For years, the Embraer Phenom 300 has been an integral part of the NetJets fleet,” pointed out NetJets Aircraft Asset Management EVP Doug Henneberry. “With this order for the Phenom 300E, we continue to provide our Owners with the exceptional travel experiences they have come to expect, as well as continue our significant partnership with Embraer.”

NetJets provides a wide range of private air travel products and services. These include aircraft management, chartering of private jets, fractional aircraft ownership, aircraft leasing and ‘jet card’ options, aircraft acquisition and brokerage services and specialised security services. It is a Berkshire Hathaway company and was originally set up in 1964 as Executive Jet Airways.

Embraer Executive Jets has an aircraft final assembly line at Melbourne in the US state of Florida as well as in Brazil. Apart from the Phenom 300E, its product portfolio includes the smaller Phenom 100EV and the larger Praetor 500 and Praetor 600 types.
