Toyota’s Kirby elected as new Naamsa president

TheNational Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (Naamsa) has elected as Toyota South Africa Motors CEOAndrew Kirbyas president following the retirement of BMW Group South Africa bossTim Abbottat the end of last year.

Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa MDNeale Hillretains his position as VP for original-equipment manufacturers, as does Kia Motors CEOGary Scottas VP for independent vehicle importers and distributors.

Scania South Africa MDFabio Souzahas been elected as new heavy commercial vehicles VP.

“Naamsa would like to take this time to thank Tim Abbott for his immeasurable contribution towards the development and growth of the automotive industry in South Africa. We wish him well in his future endeavours,” says the association in a statement.
