The IVRS water levels continue to increase

The water levels of the Integrated Vaal River System (IVRS) increased from 92.5% last week to 93.1% this week.

During the same week last year, the IVRS water levels were 65.8%.

The water levels of the Vaal dam, while decreasing from 104.4% last week to 102.5% this week, have remained above 100% for several weeks, compared with the 53.1% recorded in the comparative week last year.

After remaining unchanged for the past two successive weeks, the Grootdraai dam recorded a decline in water levels from 99.8% last week to 99.2% this week. However, the present levels are still higher compared with the 93.8% recorded at the same week last year.

The Sterkfontein dam’s water levels rose to 98.3% from 98.1% last week and 93.1% during the same week last year.

Further, the Bloemhof dam also reported an increase in water levels, from 106% last week and 88% in the comparative week last year to 109% this week.
