Temperature transmitter with Bluetooth for wireless connection

14th November 2019

A range of single-channel temperature transmitters with wireless communication via Bluetooth, has recently been launched.

The transmitters are available with an integrated Bluetooth interface that allows users to wirelessly display measured values and perform configuration tasks.

Access to the device is password-protected and can be configured without the need to install device drivers, which are pre-stored in the transmitter's electronics.

The configurable transmitters are compatible with signals from resistance sensors thermocouples, resistance and voltage transmitters and provide an output via the 4 mA to 20 mA signal or HART 7 communication (TMT72).

The iTEMP TMT71 and TMT72 transmitters from Endress+Hauser operate using the SmartBlue app. The company states that the technology offers improvements in process efficiency, plant availability, accuracy of measurements and reduced costs, as well as improved functionality and measuring performance across industries.

In addition, integrated sensor monitoring functions, device troubleshooting and diagnostic information in accordance with NAMUR NE 107, allows for measuring point availability. Temperature measurement precision is also said to be increased for the system as it matches calendar-Van-Dusen coefficients.

The temperature transmitters are designed for operation in hazardous areas and have ATEX, CSA C/US, IECEx international approvals.

The transmitters are available in various housing versions, with or without a display and can be selected according to the application, environment and process conditions.
