Talon announces high grades at Minnesota nickel project

Toronto-listed Talon Metals on Wednesday announced record grades at its Tamarack nickel/copper/cobalt project, in Minnesota, with VP for exploration Brian Goldner saying that the project could be a vital source for the US electric vehicle battery supply chain.

“Grade is ‘king’ in mining, and our recent drill results of 8% to 12% nickel and 11% to 16% copper could be a king maker,” Goldner said in a statement.

Talon announced assay results from three additional holes in the CGO West area, outside the Tamarack project’s resource area.

Drill hole 21TK0330 intersected 4.44 m of mixed and massive nickel/copper mineralisation grading 7.97% nickel and 11.25% copper, starting at 269.13 m.

Drill hole 21TK0317 intersected 5.23 m of mixed and massive nickel/copper mineralisation grading 5.29% nickel and 2.13% copper, starting at 247.97 m.

Drill hole 21TK0323 intersected 13.25 m of mixed and massive nickel/copper mineralisation grading 3.97% nickel and 1.48% copper, starting at 190.75 m.

Drilling remains ongoing to further expand the enriched high-grade zone of nickel/copper mineralisation within the CGO West area, the company said.
