Talisker ore to be processed at New Afton mill

Exploration and development company Talisker Resources has announced an ore purchase agreement with New Gold, which will process the ore mined at the Bralorne mine in British Columbia.

In terms of the agreement, New Gold will purchase up to 350 000 t of material and process it at the New Afton mine’s mill.

“Having completed the portal decline construction and our resource conversion drilling, this agreement clears the pathway for our planned 2024 production at Bralorne,” said president and CEO Terry Harbort.

The current project includes Bralorne and the historic Pioneer and King mines. Together they produced 4.2-million ounces of gold from ore with an average grade of 17.7 g/t gold before being closed down.

Bralone has a mineral resource of 117 000 t at an average grade of 8.9 g/t for 33 000 oz in the indicated category and 8-million tonnes at 6.3 g/t for 1.63-million ounces in the inferred category. The company believes that exploration potential exists as proximal extensions of currently defined mineralised zones may yield between 2.0-million and 2.5-million tonnes at grades of between 6 g/t and 9 g/t for 400 000 oz to 700 000 oz of gold.
