JSE-listed construction and mining services company Stefanutti Stocks on September 1 released a statement alerting stakeholders that it had become aware of a cyberattack on its information technology (IT) systems in the early hours of August 31.

"External IT forensic experts have been engaged to work with Stefanutti's experts to investigate the incident.

"As a result, all IT systems have been shut down in order to remediate. This will cause a temporary disruption to certain central administrative functions. Site operations will continue unaffected," the company said.

Stefanutti said it would report the attack to the relevant enforcement agencies.
