Steel producer for PV system to exhibit at expo

PV SYSTEMS The Alberton-based company supplies engineering, procurement and construction companies which are involved in the installation of ground-mounted PV systems

Local steel supplier Qinisa Steel Solutions will be exhibiting its steel processing capabilities and capacities to customers who are involved in the larger solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in South Africa and the Southern African Development Community region at the Power & Electricity World Africa showcase, which will be held at the Sandton Convention Centre and run from March 15 to 16.

Qinisa hopes to attract tracker companies, which are typically non-South African, that have unique steel component designs for tracker systems but require a local broad-based black-economic-empowerment Level 2 supply partner with appropriate processing capacity and expertise.

The Alberton-based company supplies engineering, procurement and construction companies which are involved in the installation of ground-mounted PV systems at remote sites with custom panel support products. The company specialises in decoiling, slitting, tube rolling and cold forming using mill-bought input coil and provides companies in the alternative power industry with comprehensive solutions through project managing and quality controlling all aspects of the supply chain, up to final delivery.

The company, with over three decades of involvement in the building industry, sets out to empower downstream black economic entrants towards sustainability. Qinisa also provides laser-cutting, drilling, fabrication and hot dip galvanising and postprimary processing as part of the services it delivers.

Qinisa also provides adequate skills training and development, focusing on the manufacture of structural steels, pressure vessel steel, wear resistant steel, stainless steel, coated wire and wire products, roofing and aluminium.
