Diverse offering key for Australian mines

GLOBAL FOOTPRINT From its humble beginnings in Perth, CPS now ships its products internationally, reinforcing the brand in the global mining industry

Conveyor roller technology specialist Conveyor Products & Solutions (CPS) first sought to change the bulk materials handling market by introducing all-polymer rollers – the Yeloroll product range – to the conventional and stagnant roller industry.

Established in 2003, CPS has grown to become “a world-class leader in innovative conveyor manufacturing and technology” that is designed and developed by its in-house engineering team.

As a specialist in overland conveyors, CPS has designed, engineered and fabricated major overland conveyor idler contracts for the Australia and international iron-ore markets.

These projects, the company says, attest to its proven record of delivering innovative solutions and value to clients.

In recent projects, the CPS team has safely delivered high-accuracy, lightweight, low-noise, and low-rolling resistance idlers for overland conveyors to diversified miner Rio Tinto’s Silvergrass project, and multinational miner BHP’s Jimblebar expansion project – with engineering and design work conducted by CPS engineering team at the company’s Australian manufacturing facility.

The company’s most notable overland conveyor projects also include BHP’s South Flank iron-ore project, for which CPS supplied the first all-composite roller conveyor, in addition to having designed, engineered and fabricated the conveyor system idlers.

Running two 26-km-long conveyors to form South Flank’s main arteries, the project featured 72 000 of CPS’ Yeloroll HD composite rollers, as well as 24 000 separate conveyor frames and 14 000 high-tolerance carry idler frames.

CPS supplies high quality rollers, pulleys and idlers manufactured at its highly automated manufacturing plant, in Perth, Australia, with significant investment in custom-built equipment to process roller components safely, efficiently, consistently, and most importantly, competitively.

The company’s engineering team has worked with several construction management companies, as well as mining operators, optimising greenfield and brownfield conveyor designs.

CPS services clients in Africa, North and South America and the Asia Pacific region.
