The quality, reliability and sophistication of African textiles and apparel suppliers, and service providers to prospective international buyers, will be showcased at the Source Africa 2013 trade show next week.

The show will be held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from April 9 to12.

The USAID Southern Africa Trade Hub, which is a sponsor of the conference, indicated that a matchmaking programme featuring over 125 world-class garment and textile suppliers would be held at the show to provide a platform for buyers and suppliers to explore and negotiate business relationships.

Further, the African Cotton & Textile Industries Federation would be hosting a power breakfast series to highlight investor-friendly policies in Africa spurring investment and economic growth in the sector.

The American Apparel & Footwear Association will be hosting business seminars that will share intelligence and resources for companies looking to manufacture and invest in Africa. The seminars and power breakfast series are geared towards tackling the obstacles related to infrastructure, logistics and transportation and will detail industry practices focused on getting African-manufactured products to consumers.

The trade hub stated that the event had attracted worldwide interest, with international and regional buyers, industry service providers, investment promotion agencies, interested visitors and manufacturers from major apparel-producing countries in Africa coming together to network.
