Size of weighing unit scaled down

A solution for intelligent weighing automation that measures 20 mm in width by 65 mm in height, is said to be one of the smallest weighing electronics units available.

The device’s 1 000 Hz sampling rate and processing time combined with a digital output response time of less than one millisecond, offer high accuracy and repeatability. This capability is seen as an advantage in checking scales and high performance filling machines, as the dosing devices can be controlled even within very short weighing times.

The Siwarex WP351 from Siemens can be integrated into Simatic and non-Simatic automation systems, making it an alternative to traditional weighing terminals. The intelligent firmware gives users the ability to control weighing processes directly from the module, thereby reducing the load on the connected programmable logic controller (PLC).

Through the ethernet-connected Web server, users can commission and maintain the device, or gain emergency access to the scale in case of a failed or disrupted PLC. Seamless connectivity coupled with device status transparency and full access to all scale data aims to ensure fast servicing that minimises downtimes.

The module is compatible with almost all analogue strain gauge load cells and is suitable for weighing applications such as mixing, filling, bagging, checking or totalising.
