SHOWING COURAGE:

President Jacob Zuma may have received the Makhado Bravery Award from King Khosikhulu Toni Mphephu Ramabulana, of the Royal VhaVenda people, but an inspiring display of courage was also under way miles away in Cape Town. It was confirmed that African National Congress MP and struggle veteran Ben Turok, together with Parliament’s registrar of members’ interests, Fazela Mohamed, had to be assigned bodyguards after a man claimed he had been asked to plan their assassination. The claims were made amid an ethics committee probe of former Communications Minister Dina Pule.
