A new group of application-specific idler seals are set to transform the industry by extending conveyor idler life in unique operating conditions.
According to the manufacturer, these next-generation seals will offer greater protection in applications known to prematurely expose bearings to fugitive material.
The four application-specific conveyor idler seals from Superior are listed below.
- SpinGuard wet seal: For applications in high moisture environments, which reduces idler life. Common conditions include wet processing, frequent washdowns and dredging.
- SpinGuard dry seal: For operations that produce dust, such as near crushing or screening equipment.
- SpinGuard low drag seal: Eco-friendly idlers designed with low drag seal for overland or long-distance conveying and for conveyor owners concerned about levels of horsepower.
- SpinGuard titanium seal: For the most extreme conditions including wet and slurry applications.
Each class of seal will be differentiated by a unique colour, as outlined below.
- Wet seals are blue
- Dry seals are ivory
- Low drag seals are green
- Titanium seals are silver.
The company states that lead times for these application-specific idler seals could be equal to their day-to-day production response times.
The company will launch a number of new products for crushing, screening, washing and conveying applications at the CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2020 exhibition to be held in Las Vegas in the US.
Equipment on display will include the new Sentry horizontal shaft impact crusher, Fusion modular platform, belt drive Valor vertical shaft impact crusher, bolted model Liberty jaw crusher, Alliance low water washer and portable Spirit wash plant.
