Engineering and construction group SNC-Lavalin has been awarded a mechanical engineering-led framework agreement and associated project management services contract by petrochemicals group Sasol, in support of the general maintenance projects at its sub-Saharan Africa sites.

The five-year contract is with SNC-Lavalin’s local entity Kentz and is aligned to support the Sasol maintenance plans for the next five years.

The agreement is based on person-hour rates and unit rates for a number of services and work elements that will be required of SNC-Lavalin’s general engineering services to support brownfield engineering and execution of maintenance projects.

“We have been supporting Sasol’s flagship refinery in Secunda since the early 1980s and we are delighted to continue our successful relationship through this framework agreement,” says SNC-Lavalin regional executive Stuart Kent.
