Sales professionals receive ‘intensive’ training

CASE EQUIPMENT Attendees were able to view crawler excavators, graders, wheel loaders, backhoe loaders and skid steers in action

Global construction supplier Case Construction Equipment held a three-day training event in July to provide product and commercial training on construction equipment to sales professionals throughout the Southern African region.

The event, themed Eagle Days, took place in Johannesburg from July 19 to 21 and included two days of intensive training. It was attended by different salespeople from South Africa, Mozambique, Uganda, Zambia, Namibia and Zimbabwe.

Industrial equipment producer and supplier CNH Industrial Africa and the Middle East industrial equipment senior business director Franco Invernizzi, who attended the event, says the response was outstanding.

“Our Case dealers throughout sub-Saharan Africa really appreciated the work that has been put in by the company’s commercial training team and the staff at construction equipment and earthmoving equipment distributor CSE, who made all of us feel so welcome,” he adds.

More than 120 attendees were able to view crawler excavators, graders, wheel loaders, backhoe loaders and skid steers at work and had the opportunity to receive advice from Case product specialists on the most suitable machines for different applications.

The Case commercial training team provided both in-depth product walk- arounds in the demonstration area and classroom sessions under a marquee that was erected beside a demo field. Invernizzi says the event served as an “energy boost and motivational tool” for the company’s sales staff.

“The two days of training on Case machines are preliminary to the open day public events of the third day, which enhance the relationship between salespeople and customers. “Our commercial training team, made up of globally recognised experts, has delivered this format in Africa this year as well as in Tunisia in 2015, and will replicate it in the Middle East during the autumn of 2016,” he says.

Investigative series Carte Blanche anchor and journalist Derek Watts was the master of ceremonies at the open day held on the third day, which is solely dedicated to customers who attend. The day involves shows and demonstrations by expert Case Construction Equipment operators.

Two machine shows, a lucky draw that could be entered by each attendee by submitting their business card, and different machine demonstrations was held during the course of the open day. Prizes included three Eagle Days-branded car fridges and two spare parts vouchers to the value of R10 000.

The 885B grader, 821F wheel loader and the CX210B crawler excavator and a range of light equipment, which included the 570T backhoe loader and SR175 skid steer were displayed.

Invernizzi says the event gave dealers and customers the opportunity to understand the benefits and positive attributes of a range of Case equipment.

“It gave us the opportunity to demonstrate the savings that we can make and the productivity benefits that customers can experience with our machinery. “The success of the event means that this will not be the last Eagle Days event for the sub-Saharan region,” he concludes.
