Royal HaskoningDHV achieves Level 2 BBBEE status underpinning the company’s ambition to Enhance Society Together

3rd November 2016, Today, Royal HaskoningDHV SA consulting engineers announced that the company achieved Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) Level 2 status. This demonstrates Royal HaskoningDHV’s ambition towards Enhancing Society Together and a great recognition for the role the company plays in the South African society. 

“Royal HaskoningDHV’s strategic intent is to benefit all our stakeholders and communities we operate in, we believe in actively focusing on transformation initiatives and practicing good corporate governance and ethics, we recognise this as a critical business imperative that creates employment opportunities for our future engineers,” says Salani Sithole, Royal HaskoningDHV SA Managing Director.

Infrastructure development is at the core of the Government’s National Development Plans Vision 2030 and in line with this, Royal HaskoningDHV is actively involved in a number of Government initiatives. The organisation plays an active role in a number of industry bodies including Consulting Engineers South Africa (CESA), the South African Institution of Civil Engineers (SAICE), the South African Black Technical and Allied Careers Organisation (SABTACO) and the Black Business Council (BBC), to mention a few.

Royal HaskoningDHV’s Education Foundation was developed to provide education initiatives in support of our community schools as well as the Corporate Social Responsibility activities in our society. This includes the Saturday School initiatives which operate from six branch offices, in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Bloemfontein, Durban and Pietermaritzburg. This has provided support for more than 1000 learners since its inception.

For young talents within the engineering industry, Royal HaskoningDHV has a Young Professionals Forum, Y-RHDHV. This group of upcoming young leaders actively promotes the industry and is dedicated to sharing experiences and inspiring others to bring positive change to society. The Young Royals recently walked away with the 2016 CESA Job Shadow Day first prize.
