Project Description
The project will support New Zealand’s goal to lower its carbon emissions.

The project will increase the Roxburgh hydropower plant’s generation output by replacing four of the plant’s eight turbines with a more efficient and modern design. The new turbines will each have a 40 MW capacity and use the existing water flows more efficiently, delivering an additional 44 GWh of energy in an average hydrology year. The upgrade will remove 2 000 t/y of carbon dioxide emissions.
