Refined generator provides reliable standby power

POWER TROLLEY 6 The portable, ecofriendly generator is cost effective

Local power generation technology specialist Sinetech says that its Power Trolley 6 provides reliable, mobile backup power during load-shedding and other instances where the main source of energy fails or where there is no such source.

Sinetech GM Herbert Teubner says that the Power Trolley 6 comes equipped with two multisocket output ports and two USB ports for the direct charging of two cellphones simultaneously, while remaining plugged into the main source of energy and equipment at all times, ready to take over should the main source of power fail.

“A light-emitting diode panel also switches on as soon as the main source of energy is gone, making the Power Trolley 6 visible in darkness. Its silent operation and [that it does not require fuel] mean that the generator can be placed anywhere indoors,” he explains.

Teubner adds that the Power Trolley 6 has been around since 2006, with refinements over the years that include the introduction of a housing that is easily removed to gain access to the battery and the addition of wheels for manoeuvreability.

Sinetech marketing and advertising coordinator Alex Hattingh states that the concept, design and valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) absorbed glass mat (AGM) fully sealed Gel+Hybrid 120 Ah 12 V battery is the brainchild of Teubner although it is manufactured outside South Africa. “The battery has an eight- to ten-year design life and Sinetech always has plentiful stock.

“The unit’s built-in inverter has an output of 1 500 VA/1 000 W, and the built-in charger can charge a battery using 10 A. For a longer backup period or to power more appliances, a second, external battery can be connected with ease. The unit boasts a smooth automatic changeover from mains to direct current (dc) without any interruption, differing only from a dedicated UPS system in that it is portable,” Hattingh elaborates.

In instances where there is no alternating current main power source, charging of the battery can be done through solar panels, a wind turbine or a diesel generator, which can be connected to the Power Trolley’s dc port.

The Power Trolley 6 is shipped across the continent and continues to be a best seller for Sinetech, adds Hattingh.
