JSE-listed diversified real estate investment trust Redefine Properties has appointed Anda Matwa as company secretary, effective December 1.

She joins Redefine from industry peer Attacq where she was the company secretary.

Matwa has extensive experience in corporate governance and regulatory affairs within the JSE listings environment and international experience across the Americas, Europe, Australia, Asia-Pacific and Africa.

She holds a BCom in philosophy and a degree in politics and economics from the University of Cape Town; an MSc in management and corporate governance from University of Ulster, in the UK; and a post-graduate diploma in corporate law and a higher diploma in tax, both from the University of Johannesburg.

Matwa is also currently pursuing a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of South Africa.

Redefine chairperson Sipho Pityana says Matwa’s appointment enables Redefine to continue pursuing its strategic plan and reinforces the company’s commitment to good corporate governance while building a competitive edge by attracting professionals.

“On behalf of the board of directors, I would like to welcome Matwa and I believe she will be a tremendous asset to Redefine Properties and a great addition to our executive team. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Thembekile Dube who held the reins in an acting capacity,” concludes Pityana.
