Rechargeable spotlight in focus

A handheld spotlight powered by rechargeable batteries is now available in retail stores across South Africa.

The unit is encased in a plastic material with rubber over-mould and features a shatterproof lens, an on/off trigger and a lanyard loop.

The spotlight has two light-emitting diode (LED) lights, 550 lumens, low and high modes, adjustable beam, 425 m reach and is designed to last up to 20 years.

It comes with six rechargeable AA batteries that can be loaded once, sealed off and recharged with a separate charge panel that can be plugged into a wall socket. A car charger is also supplied.

The unit can also be run on alkaline or lithium batteries. It is fitted with a battery detection system which recognises the type of battery being used. This aims to prevent damage from occurring if an attempt to recharge an alkaline or lithium battery is made.
