Transnet Rail Engineering ensures fuel security to Botswana

Last year, Transnet Rail Engineering unveiled 50 tanker wagons, which were built at its Germiston plant. Equipment and technology worth over R20-million was invested, for the plant to meet the specific requirements of the wagons. Megan Wait has the story.

Dubbing it a milestone for TRE, Public Enterprises Minister Malusi Gigaba said that the delivery of the tanker wagons positioned Transnet as a market leader in Southern Africa. These wagons will be used to ensure fuel security to South Africa’s landlocked neighbour Botswana.
