Propak Cape showcases new technology and latest products

Propak Cape has already attracted hundreds of visitors who want to learn about the latest developments and technology in packaging and related industries. Cabletech Marketing has sold a Haitian flagship 90-tonne injection mounding machine at the show, and Adex Plastics and Machinery has also sold a machine from their stand. Many other exhibitor sales are expected during the week.

Automated packaging machines, systems and materials; production and industrial applications; printers and inkjet coders; food processing, packing and weighing machines; high-performance X-ray inspection systems; and food storage systems are on show amongst many other technologies, equipment and machinery. These new developments in technology form the cutting edge of the industries’ response to changing consumer demand trends.

The sustainability of packaging has never been more important and local packaging companies are investing in research and development to develop new eco-friendly materials that can be recycled, but remain sturdy and temperature resistant.

Various industry initiatives that have been successfully implemented by the sector’s Producer Responsibility Organisations are on view at Propak Cape and many of South Africa’s leading Associations are amongst those exhibiting in the Sustainability Pavilion. These include the Institute of Packaging South Africa, Plastics SA, Printing SA, Packaging SA and the South African National Bottled Water Association.

Local industry leaders at the forefront of the South African packaging and related industries are also taking the lead at the events’ daily programme of free-to-attend seminars. Important industry topics are providing insight around latest global trends and how the SA market can take advantage of these developments.

The Propak Cape exhibition is organised by Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery, a member of the prestigious Montgomery Group.
